NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

The Lumpkin County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a 2017 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 5.32 percent. All concerned citizens are invited to the 5th public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Lumpkin County Board of Education offices, 56 Indian Drive, Dahlonega, GA 30533 on September 7, 2017 at 6:30pm. Times and places of previous additional public hearings on this tax increase were at the Lumpkin County Board of Education offices, 56 Indian Drive, Dahlonega, GA 30533 on August 3rd at 12:30pm and 4:30pm and August 14, 2017 at 5:00 pm and 6:30pm. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 16.819 mills, an increase of .849 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 15.970 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $33.96 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $101.88.
