𝐀 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐚 𝐇𝐎𝐏𝐄: If your child is experiencing any sadness, anger, frustration, anxiety, or any other mental health symptoms, please know that there is help. Even during COVID-19, your child can receive mental health support through the phone or video. Simply contact Georgia HOPE at 706-279-0405 OR https://gahope.org/make-a-referral/. We at Georgia HOPE have learned along with you that children will not be returning to school for the remainder of the school year. We always depend on educators and other community partners to identify and link children and families in need to our services daily. Typically, we see a large spike in referrals prior to school letting out for the summer which allows us to serve families when school is not in session. Without your referrals we have no way of knowing which children are at risk of suffering alone until they are able to return to school this fall. We are continuing to offer all of our services while following appropriate CDC guidance to keep ourselves and clients safe.
The LCBOE will meet in a public session to handle school system business. Community members are invited to attend virtually on Zoom. Based on Governor Kemp’s orders, Lumpkin County Schools will remain closed through April 24, 2020. We will continue online learning each week excluding spring break. We will observe spring break April 6-10, 2020. We hope to be back in school on April 27, 2020.
Based on Governor Kemp’s guidance and ban on gatherings of ten or more people until April 6, 2020, Lumpkin County Schools will remain closed through spring break. We hope to return on April 13, 2020. #TR1BE
In accordance with Governor Kemp’s Executive Order, Lumpkin County Schools will remain closed through March 31, 2020. Closing beyond this date will be determined based on how things develop between now and then. Our teachers and staff remain prepared to serve our students even from afar!
Clarification on assignments for this week: All students should have 4 days of assignments as we had 4 instructional days on our school calendar this week. Since today was needed to prepare the online format, assignments may not have been posted early enough for students to complete the assignments today. You may need to use Friday for the 4th day this week unless you got started today.
In the event that Lumpkin County Schools are closed for an additional week or weeks, we will be offering delivery of breakfast and lunch to children under 18 (or under 21 for anyone with a disability) or any student in Lumpkin County Schools. This delivery service will begin in our community the week of March 23rd. This is at no cost. If your family needs food for the week of March 16th, please contact Brigette Barker at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please complete this form to help us in planning for next week. After we've received all the form submissions, we will plan our routes and be in touch! For updates, please make sure you check our website and social media platforms. https://tinyurl.com/LCFoodDelivery

It's fitting that Kurt Thomas and Radford Windham spent some time in the Zac Brown Booth today! All three (Thomas, Windham, and Brown) graduated from LCHS and spent some time playing music together back in the 90s. Although it's special enough to have Kurt and Radford in the booth, the real star is that guitar! The oldest Martin guitar still in circulation and being played is this 1846 beauty. Thanks, Kurt, for stopping by Cottrell Recording Studio @ Indian Drive today!
