Lumpkin County Schools Outpaces State and National Averages on SAT — Class of 2025 Performance Draws Regional Attention

DAHLONEGA, GA – [September 30, 2025 @ 9:00 AM] – Lumpkin County Schools is pleased to report that the Class of 2025 attained exceptional SAT performance, surpassing both state and national averages. With a collective average total score of 1083, Lumpkin County places second in the Pioneer RESA region and demonstrates that our students are well positioned for post-secondary success.

A total of 125 seniors in Lumpkin County took the SAT. Their mean scores were:

  • Evidence-Based Reading & Writing (ERW): 561

  • Math: 522

These scores compare favorably to broader benchmarks: the Georgia average SAT score is 1029, and the national average hovers near 996 overall. Lumpkin County thus exceeds both state and national norms by 54 and 87 points on average, respectively.
