The Georgia Reads Community Award celebrates school districts and communities that build strong partnerships among schools, families, community organizations, and local leaders to ensure every child has the opportunity to become a confident, capable reader. Communities selected for this honor are recognized for their collaborative efforts, innovative approaches, and measurable impact on literacy outcomes.

Lumpkin County Schools earned this distinction through the dedicated work of teachers, staff, students, and community partners who prioritize reading and lifelong learning across the county. By working together to support literacy initiatives, expand access to resources, and engage families in the reading journey, Lumpkin County continues to strengthen opportunities for all learners.
