DAHLONEGA, GA — Lumpkin County Schools proudly joins the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) in recognizing outstanding high school seniors across the state who have been named 2026 Georgia Scholars.
State School Superintendent Richard Woods announced today that 162 graduating seniors statewide have earned this prestigious distinction. The Georgia Scholar program honors students who demonstrate excellence in both academic achievement and community involvement.
Each Georgia Scholar receives a special seal for their diploma and a graduation cord, symbolizing their accomplishments and commitment to leadership, service, and academic rigor.
This year, Lumpkin County Schools is proud to recognize our four Georgia Scholars, the most in school system history:
Dillan Endicott
Lindsey Greene
Haley Hayes
Carson Horton
“Congratulations to our four seniors recognized as Georgia Scholars this year,” said Superintendent Sharon Head. “These students exemplify excellence in academics, leadership, and service. I'm proud to celebrate their achievements and confident they will continue making a positive difference in their communities and beyond.”
Georgia Scholars are selected based on their ability to carry rigorous course loads throughout high school, maintain outstanding academic performance, actively participate in school and community activities, and serve in leadership roles within extracurricular and service organizations.
The Georgia Department of Education coordinates the Georgia Scholar program in partnership with local school districts and schools to highlight students who represent the very best of Georgia’s future.
Lumpkin County Schools congratulates all students recognized as Georgia Scholars and celebrates their dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence.
