Rob Brown and Janet Jackson

This month’s Partner in Education award is being presented to BTD Manufacturing of Dawsonville, Georgia represented at Monday's BOE meeting by their HR Manager, Janet Jackson.

Our Partner in Education program here in Lumpkin County welcomes the involvement of all of our stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, parents, and community).  A partnership is a mutually agreed upon arrangement where both the school and the business, individual or organization is intended to benefit our schools, our students, our faculty, staff and families.

Over the past year, BTD has worked closely with our Work-Based Learning and Youth Apprenticeship Program to provide jobs for several of our students interested in pursuing careers in welding and manufacturing.  When BTD heard about the Aim-Achieve-Arrive Center at LCHS, they were one of our first sponsors providing brand new shoes and a full week’s worth of clothing for one of our students, a student who secured a job at a different business in Dawson County.  Janet has been an integral part of our College and Career Academy Steering Committee serving as the chair of one of our sub-committees and helping our team move forward in this process.

Thank you, BTD, for your dedication to the Lumpkin County School District.  We appreciate your partnership, and we look forward to working with you for many years to come!
