With a record of impressive leadership, Dr. Brown has presented at conferences across the state and at the national level.  Under his leadership, schools and districts have been identified as some of the best as evidenced by Dr. Brown having accepted awards for being a National Blue-Ribbon Schools of Excellence Lighthouse School, Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) finalist for Governance Team of the Year, a GSBA Leading Edge District two years in a row, the Georgia Charter System Leadership Development system for 2020-2021, a Georgia School Public Relations Association (GSPRA) Gold level, and a Georgia Association of School Personnel Administrators (GASPA) Best in Class Award.

On behalf of the Lumpkin County BOE and the school district as a whole, it is an honor to congratulate Dr. Brown on being elected to serve as President of GSSA.  When the work you see him leading every day in Lumpkin County is recognized and rewarded by others in our region, state and nation, it energizes all of us with excitement and pride.  Dr. Brown’s commitment, dedication, and continued excellence in the field of education is inspirational, and our students are the benefactors of his focus on educating and empowering life-long learners.
