Our annual Athletic Physical Day is tomorrow beginning at 2:30 PM. Make sure you pick up a form in the front office. Physicals are only $10 per athlete and are valid through the end of next school year (May 2023). Middle schoolers will need to have a parent present.

After a two year break from the special games due to Covid, Dawson and Lumpkin County Schools were finally able to meet again for the Special Games. This year, the games were hosted by Lumpkin County. During spring break, members of the LCHS Key Club volunteered their time to help place pinwheels in front of the courthouse in honor of child abuse awareness month. Each one of the 245 pinwheels represents a child that local charity Enotah CASA served in 2021.
Congratulations to Piper Spraker and Kaif Munshi for being named 2022 Georgia Scholars! Out of our entire state, only 216 students total were named. This is an incredible honor! Join me in congratulating these top students for their academic achievement!

Joni McElwaney and Rhonda Ervin put together bags from Annah Faith‘s closet for students to take home over spring break. The bags contain a variety of canned and shelf-stable food items. We are so thankful for our wonderful partners and clubs that raised the supplies for the food pantry in Annah Faith’s closet at LCHS.

Dr. Alldred’s AP Environmental students continued their research on pollution with a laboratory investigation on the effects and management of oil spills.
Both Girls and Boys Tennis teams punched their ticket for the GHSA State Tennis Tournament on Tuesday, March 29. Seniors Hannah Davis, Karen Harris, Cady Geddings, and Carly Sosebee all scored wins over East Forsyth High School securing the girl's spot in the state tournament. The young boys team also defeated East Forsyth to advance into the state tournament for the second year in a row. Go Indians!
Hats off to Mrs Cadie Barron for making British Literature come alive for these seniors last week at Medieval Times! It was a GREAT day to be an Indian!
UNG hosted a Health Science Career Tour for 25 of our healthcare students. What an incredible day for these students who enjoyed a tour of Chelsey Park and UNG’s PT and Nursing programs.
