Congratulations to the Lumpkin Youth Leadership Class of 2024! It was wonderful to see our community come together to provide such valuable opportunities for students to learn and grow as leaders. A big thank you to Robb Nichols, the Chamber of Commerce, and Tammy Soles with NGHS for their dedication and support in empowering these students to grow as leaders in our community. The Georgia Scholar program through the Georgia Department of Education recognizes seniors across the state who have achieved the highest level of academic success and school/community leadership and completed a lengthy application process to highlight their accomplishments. Today seniors learned the practice of being a responsible adult - It was Adulting Day! To name a few of these necessary tasks: they practiced ironing, sewing on a button, cooking a pantry meal, changing a tire, basic electrical, patching sheetrock, and first aid. A special thanks to some incredible folks that made this day a success-LCSS Central Office Staff, Ray & John Megal Ford, Gold City Diner, Striker Marketing, and North GA BBQ!
LCHS Seniors visited Medieval Times!
Several students from the Mock Trial Team were able to watch the Georgia State Court of Appeals hear oral arguments during the Court's visit to UNG's campus. Afterward, the students were able to ask questions of the judges concerning their experiences with past cases, legal insights, and advice about attending law school.
Ms. Phillips’s Marketing Classes are working hard on their resumes in the Building Bridges Writing Center in the LCHS MC
The frogs were donated by the Retired Teachers of Lumpkin a few years ago, we are still enjoying them. Dr. Alldred’s anatomy class went from dissecting pickles a month ago to dissecting frogs, we have sheep brains next!
