Student groups in Mrs. Nicholas and Coach Wisehart’s Forensic science class created shoebox crime scenes. Student groups then used a rubric to rate their peers shoebox crime scenes. Once they finished reviewing their peers, the groups then reflected on their own box, and provided a reflective rating for themselves.
Culinary supporters Don and Elizabeth Harris stopped by the LCHS Culinary Lab to see students in action! Students were engaged in making homemade syrup and were excited to take a minute to show off their new skills! Their generous support of the LC CCA Harris Family Kitchen is so appreciated.

Interact Club seniors receive $500 personal scholarship from Mr. Chuck Jones at the Rotary Reading Rally. Mr. Matthews presented them with their checks today. Congrats to Alorah Brown, Chandler Turk, Abiela Parker, & Alorah Brown.
Local artist, Win Crannell, visited with LCHS art students today. He shared his artworks, encouraged students to be creative for a long life, and conducted a tree drawing workshop.
Congratulations to seniors Jackson Marling and Jonathan Wright for being named as semi-finalists in the National Merit Scholarship competition. Both students will apply for consideration as finalists to receive a National Merit Scholarship. They were among only 624 students recognized as semi-finalists in the state of Georgia. Congratulations Jackson and Jonathan!

LCXC traveled to Cartersville to race today. Our teams competed with 50 teams in their race. The boys team took 1st place! Wyatt was 1st and Witt Windham came in 2nd. Sam Edwards, Jackson Marling and Solomon Alhadeff were not far behind on the crowded course. The girls team took 12th place. Keli George placed 12th individuallly. Following her was Joanie Phillabaum, Anna Blake Moyer, Sara Meekyl and Violet Greene. Both teams are getting stronger as we get closer to State.
Ms. Westafer’s Biology students discovered that all of the different types of cells that they are learning about look really interesting under the microscope!

Ms. Westafer’s Environmental class got to "test out" the watermelons that they have been growing in the school garden. They are constantly checking on our compost bins. They have also been working hard to collect data for their semester long experiment on plants.
