Lumpkin County School System was well represented at the TN Valley Robotics FIRST LEGO League Tournament held recently at the Volkswagen Conference Center in Chattanooga. Teams from Lumpkin County Middle School, Blackburn Elementary and Long Branch Elementary competed among a field of 24 teams from North Georgia and Tennessee. The Blackburn Bots, coached by Susan, David, and Matthew Corvacchioli took home the 2nd Place trophy in Robot Design and Engineering, and Lumpkin County Middle’s Craftie Co. team coached by Brandy and Chris Phillips brought home 2nd Place in Core Values. Congratulations!

Due to the threat of inclement weather and the Winter Weather Advisory, Lumpkin County Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Our Little Indians Bus will be back out starting next Tuesday, January 16th at Chestatee Wildlife Zoo from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM and Thursday, January 18th at the Lumpkin County Library from 11:15 to 12:00 PM. The Little Indians Bus is geared to children up to the age of five and presented by our Teaching as a Profession classes and instructor. We look forward to seeing the younger generation of the TR1BE!
