The Indian Café @ LCHS hosted a grand opening yesterday with special guests Dr. and Mrs. Brown, Mr. Trammell, Mrs. Lowry, Mrs. Abercrombie, Mrs. Rice-Zeman and Ms. Kipfmiller. Students practiced functional life skills by preparing and serving a full meal to their guests! #TR1BE

This Tuesday, Profe Pinion's Spanish class practiced their conversational and vocabulary skills with each other. They held conversations in Spanish and played word games on the board to recite their knowledge.

Lumpkin County Elementary School's first grade teachers dressed as historical figures to teach their classes about important historical figures and events in America's past. The characters ranged from Benjamin Franklin to Sacagewea!

Mrs. Gastley's fifth grade class @ LCES learned about chemical and physical changes with the help of UNG students and their professor, Dr. Greta Giles. From elephant tooth paste to liquid nitrogen ice cream, the experiments provided excitement for all!

The Book Fair is back at Long Branch Elementary School this week! Kids are ready to pick up the latest books in Mrs. Fouts' media center.


Friday in Ms. Taylor Tritt's fourth grade class, students received a well earned pizza party! Students who read at least four AR books and passed the quizzes for the month of January got a free personal pizza courtesy of Pizza Hut's Book It program.

The Lumpkin County Board of Education monthly meetings are coming up this Wednesday (work session) and next Monday (regular session).
