
GA Mountain Food Bank provides fresh produce and food to many local providers here in Lumpkin County. Our school system is pleased to work with them on many projects. Earlier this week, Casey the Carrot visited LCES to present Dr. Brown with the Superintendent's Bowl!

It is Old Fashioned Day at Long Branch Elementary School! Kids of all grades enjoyed a day of learning about past practices like Native American foraging and hunting, how biscuits were made, and were introduced to a past method of transportation; the horse. These kids impressed with their costumes and had lots of fun! #LBES

Lumpkin County Middle School students incorporate their own personalities and interests into their work in art class. While two students design a Barbie dream house, another is in the early processes of making a Bob Ross sculpture. #TR1BE


At Lumpkin County Middle School, profe' Pinion's Spanish class got to conversing - in Spanish, of course. An impromptu verbal discussion among students kept the kids on their toes and in the Spanish corner of their minds.

Then, with a focus on finding the gold in ourselves, Jason interviews Kelly Crisson and Jessica Canupp, our school district's new mental health counselors on what they are seeing and their role in Lumpkin County Schools.

On September 30th, during Homecoming week, high schoolers either chose to dress up as aliens or cowboys. Many had some impressive costumes!
