It's official! Sharon Head was sworn in this morning by Judge Michael Chastain as the superintendent of Lumpkin County Schools, and she began her first day on the job today as we welcomed back our staff for the spring semester!

Today is Dr. Rob Brown's last school day as Superintendent of Lumpkin County Schools as he is set to retire at the end of this month. (It is also his birthday!) In recognition of his retirement, our staff has been celebrating Dr. Brown over the past several weeks with receptions, special events, and more. He will be sorely missed by all of us, but he will forever be a part of the #TR1BE!
Thank you, Dr. Brown, for your leadership for the past seven and half years. Lumpkin County Schools is a better place for students, staff, families, and this community because of your contributions as our superintendent. You may be retiring, but your legacy will live on for many years to come! Congratulations on an impressive career, and we wish you the very best in your retirement!
