In partnership with Dahlonega/LC Chamber of Commerce, LC Development Authority and UNG, the 2023 cohort of Lumpkin Youth Leadership kicked off yesterday with a day full of team building and entrepreneurial skills. We are excited to see how these student leaders develop!

Dr. Alhadeff’s Healthcare Science students @ LCHS partnered with Mrs. Collins’ Drama students to practice patient care scenarios last week. It was a win-win for both programs!

Several student-athletes from the UNG Men's Basketball Team visited Blackburn Elementary School on Friday to read to our first graders! Seen here, Ms. Olivier's students were so excited to meet and hear from these local stars!

Thank you, DLCCC, for hosting the State of Education luncheon. Along with Dr. Jacobs (President @ UNG), Mr. McDonald (President @ Lanier Tech), and Dr. Lovell (Superintendent @ MECHS), Superintendent Dr. Rob Brown presented an impressive update on the current state of LCSS! We have much to be proud of in Lumpkin County!

𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙄𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧: The senior class at LCHS collected 26 new backpacks for Family Connection’s beginning-of-year supply drive. Students working together and giving back to our school district and our community is one of the many reasons we love our #TR1BE!

Have you completed your 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝑴𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝑩𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒇𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝑨𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 this year? We need ALL families to help us out by completing this quick application. Visit https://www.lumpkinschools.com/page/begofyear for information on how to complete this needed step.

𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞! Although many things have changed in K12 classrooms in the last thirty years, our students still benefit from exploration during centers. Centers might look a little different nowadays, but the idea remains the same. What was your favorite center?

At the end of this second week, our students aren’t wasting any time getting to work as they strive for excellence. This year, Dr. Brown has challenged our teachers to #FeedTheFire. We encourage our students to follow: Find what makes you be your best self and #FeedTheFire!

Thank you, Dahlonega Woman’s Club, for your generous support of our WBL Program @ LCHS! Your donation will directly benefit students and our Aim-Achieve-Arrive Center.

Not only did we recognize the volunteers who were a part of the inaugural summer of Well Read, Well Fed last night, but we also named Community Helping Place as our Partner in Ed for August! Thank you, LC, for coming together to serve the families of this community.

Superintendent Brown and our BOE recognized our five wrestlers who competed at the national level this summer. Way to represent the #TR1BE, Austin Marshall, Nathan Nielsen, Greta Garbuzovas, Nora Garbuzovas, and Gwennie Wight!

It's been a GREAT first week for the #TR1BE! As we wind down this afternoon and prepare for the weekend, our teachers are already planning and prepping for next week's lessons. Take time to rest this weekend, and we will see you all Monday morning!

Sometimes you get creative when you’re demonstrating professional dress for state competition. We’re pretty confident these AgEd and FFA students got the idea!

Welcome back, #TR1BE!

The Lumpkin County Board of Education monthly meetings are coming up this Wednesday (work session) and next Monday (regular session).

We are back in session tomorrow for our first day of school! Please be prepared for heavy traffic in Dahlonega and Lumpkin County, and plan now for expected delays on your morning commute. Most importantly, be alert and help us keep our kids safe!

We welcomed 50 new employees to the #TR1BE earlier this week. We can’t wait to see you all in action as you start your new career in LC!
#FeedTheFire

Our students return in just a few days for a new school year, and we are excited to welcome all of them back into our classrooms!
To simplify and streamline the beginning-of-the-year packet of forms and signatures we need, we are asking parents to complete this process through the Parent Portal this year. Go to www.lumpkinschools.com/required for an overview of this new process and for detailed information.
*If you do not have a login for Infinite Campus Parent Portal, you have two choices: 1) Call your child's school and the front office can get you set-up; or, 2) Plan to set-up your Parent Portal account during Open House by visiting the Parent Portal Help Desk.
