Laura Wilson's 6th Grade Honors Science Class tasted Kombu Seaweed Salad and learned about the sense of taste in class this week! Did you know that sea vegetables have many nutritional benefits? Ms. Wilson's students know that now thanks to this cool lesson!

As we round out March, let's all take time to thank our hardworking Board of Education. In LC, it takes the whole #TR1BE to succeed. Our BOE members are integral to the success of the district, and we are grateful for them. We are #BetterTogether as we remain #FocusedForward!

If you have a child starting kindergarten next fall, make plans to attend our registration day on April 22nd. Here is the link to how to register online: https://5il.co/qkx7

This notion is what drives us in Lumpkin County to think outside the box, to be innovative, and to work with our community in educating the whole student.
Our Aim-Achieve-Arrive Center @ LCHS is a place for us to meet with students to help with resumes, job applications, and interview skills. The last step once they have secured the interview is for us to outfit them with one outfit per student (from top to bottom). The idea is that we give each student an outfit that works for their new career (maybe it’s a shirt and tie and dress shoes or maybe it’s work boots and carpenter pants). No matter the style, each student is given a full outfit to better prepare them for success!
Our wrap-around services model truly prepares our students for life after high school graduation. It is no longer enough for us to get student across the stage with a high school diploma in hand; Lumpkin County aspires for all our students to be successful and productive in all manners of their life. With your help and support, our aspirations become reality!
Last Thursday, Lumpkin County High School officially opened our AAA Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony! If you are interested in adding your name or business to all wall of sponsors, reach out to jason.lemley@lumpkinschools.com.
