Each school year, LCSS hosts different groups and organizations as a part of our community engagement initiatives. This morning, we hosted the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Newcomers at Cottrell Elementary! If your club, group or organization is interested in hosting a meeting with Lumpkin County Schools this year, please reach out to jason.lemley@lumpkinschools.com.

With the recent events in Barrow County, we want to take the time to reassure our staff, students, and families that Lumpkin County Schools is taking every threat of violence seriously. We have been made aware of threats mentioning Lumpkin County Schools on social media, and we have investigated all threats thoroughly. At this time, we have determined that there are no credible threats targeting any LCSS school. Safety is, and always will be, our top priority in this school district. We have increased police and district administrator presence on our campuses today as we focus on keeping our students and staff safe. Thank you for your continued support of Lumpkin County Schools!
