GASPA Platinum Award

Each year, the Georgia Association of School Personnel Administrators (GASPA) recognizes school districts across the state for best practices in human resources.  Districts can receive an award on one of three levels (base level, gold level, and platinum level) in one of seven categories.

Lumpkin County Schools received the Platinum Award for Teacher Retention Practices this morning!  Thanks to the work of our Director of Student Services Kerri Whitmire and her team, LCSS's submission "far exceeded any similarly situated school district" in the entire state of Georgia in the area of retention practices.  Having submitted evidence of our innovative practices (employee induction model, mentoring program (Rising Indians, Tribe Vibe, and Lumpkin 4 Life), and recognition program) implemented to retain highly effective employees, Lumpkin County Schools is the model in the state of Georgia!

This is our second award this school year for our employee retention practices having received the Georgia School Board Association's (GSBA) Leading Edge Award back in December.
